Blog Readership

I love numbers, charts, figures and statistics.  Especially about cows and stuff like that but about almost anything.  On my blog is a map showing where people are located who have hit my blog on a given day accumulated over a month and if you click on it, it gives the stats by country.

This past month, the blog was viewed 1100 times, which is a record for me.  I guess I can thank May-B for linking me to Facebook via Twitter.

Canada supplied 653 views, USA 261.  Other countries are listed below.  Disregard Ukraine as most of it is me.  (Yes, it counts when I go to my blog to comment or check to see how it looks after I post).

I expect the low level hits , 1-4's are casual wanderings, but would love to know who reads my blog in Europe and why.

The Only prize I Ever Won was my Wife's Hand

Smutzie, from www.Schmutzie.com | www.CanadianWeblogAwards.com | www.GraceinSmallThings.com and of course, Five Star Friday, emailed to tell me that The Blog Fodder was nominated for a CWA (Canadian Weblog Award) - Best Ex-Pat Blog.  Cool. By whom I have no idea but she is a friend of May-B at Buggering Crap Monkies.  though her biases might run the opposite direction

I didn't think the CWA in her email meant Canadian Western Agribition but had to check to see what it did mean.

Certainly a category my blog does fit in as I couldn't think of another.  It is all over the map as far as content is concerned.  Part letters to my kids, part letters to the editor, part filler, part ??

Readership is pretty slim.  Average 30 per day but only 13 will admit it.  Wish a few more would sign up as followers and make themselves known.  I don't know how to tell you to do that if you don't have a blog. Anyone know if there is a way to sign on as a follower and have an email tell you when I've posted something?  You can even use a phony name if you wish.  Like Insubordinate.

Who Reads My Blog?

I don't read a lot of blogs. Partly I don't have time and partly my Internet connection is so slow. I read my kid's blogs and my cousin's and one of my former neighbour's who is sort of family and one of my kids' friend's, who has been in Ireland these past two years but just blogged she is going back to Canada, having finished her MA.

And one blog of a "friend I haven't met", that I enjoy, just because it is so well written. Dana Wyzard's LIFE IS GOOD. It is funny. It is heart wrenching. It is beautiful. It is Dana!

But who reads my blog? There is a little map in the upper left corner of my blog which allegedly keeps track of the number of people who read my blog and where they live. It is archived monthly. So today being the last of September, I thought I'd look and see where my readers were. All 409 of them this month.

Some of the red dots I can identify. Kids, relatives and friends. In many places in the world. But there are hits from all over the globe that I can't account for. How did you find me and why do you read it? I am curious. My kids and a few friends are the only ones who comment on even a semi-regular basis.

I know there are programs that search for key words. Someone from Washington who had been here 15 or 20 years ago contacted me when Zhovte Vodi tripped his program trigger. I flushed a couple of foaming-at-the-mouth nutbars a few months ago with an editorial. I expect there are one-hit wonders that stumbled over my blog by accident and never came back.

Please, I would love to hear from my readers from all over.
